Pastor's Paragraph

The chill in the air along with those high, clear skies tells us that it is fall or harvest time in Kentucky.  What a beautiful time of the year!  It is especially beautiful here at Hillcrest at this harvest time.  God has blessed us with one addition by letter and four professions of faith during the last month.  God has heard and answered our prayers as a spirit of revival continues at Hillcrest.  My prayer is that this revival never ends!

During these times of unsettling news from the world and our own nation, let us remember that God is changeless.  His power is limitless and His knowledge is without bounds.  God has the answer to all of the world’s problems if we will only let Him lead us.  Don’t forget to pray that God will choose the right leadership for our great country.

Our fall community outreach event, “Trunk or Treat” will be held in the church parking lot on Friday, October 31.  We need all available church members to help with this event.  Last year we had about 300 children which were our largest ever, but we hope to reach even more this year.  We need help with candy and give-aways, but we re ally need your help in greeting the neighborhood.  We have opportunity to meet many from our community who will not walk through our doors and reach them for Jesus.  Will you come and help us?

 Your Pastor,

 Tony

Music Notes

From Steven  Moscoe

OCTOBER!!!!!

No way, time could not have flown that fast!   I am trying to remember all the wonderful things in September that happened to us as a church.

We have had new faces in the choir.  I would love to have even more!!!

I hope that you will consider being one of those new faces.  We are working on the Christmas music, but it is not too late for you to come and try. I will not be disappointed if you come just once and decide it is not where you are called to serve.

Here is my thought for this month.

Do not worry about tomorrow, it’s not here yet.

Do not worry about yesterday, it’s already gone.

Live life for today!!!! So you don’t miss out!!

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.   Matthew 6:34 NKJV

Youth News

 Greetings from the Youth Group,

Well summer is over and fall has begun!!!

September was a slow month, as far as extra activities. However, with school starting, sometimes it is good to have a break.

Saturday, October 25, the youth will be having a day of hiking at the domain in Irvine, Kentucky, leaving church at 8:30 am and returning by 5:00 pm.

Wednesday, October 29th, we will have pizza and pumpkin carving starting at 6:30 pm and ending at 7:30 pm.

Friday, October 31st is Trunk or Treat.

Our youth is great about helping; praise the Lord for our youth and leaders.

May God Bless you and keep you.
