August Sunday Nights

All Are Welcome

We have come to look forward to the month of August at Hillcrest because we celebrate the end of summer with AUGUST SUNDAY NIGHTS.Each Sunday evening during August, we will have special music,fellowship, and food. Check out the Upcoming Events page to find a schedule for all of the events. Post that schedule so you won't miss anything. We will wrap up August Sunday Nights with an outdoor concert and cookout hosted by The Waymakers and Friend. This a perfect opportunity to invite a guest or come check out Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Vacation Bible School was a tremendous success! We praise God for the many miracles during the week. Eight public professions of faith were made and no doubt many more private professions were made that will become public in the days ahead. I was so proud of our teachers and workers. They truly showed their love for Jesus by loving the little children. At the end of the week, we were all tired, but it was a good tired because we knew that we had done God's will.

Thank you Lord for allowing me to be part of your work !

Bob and Jean Morgan, our prayer-partner missionaries in Indonesia, are back in the U.S. for a few months. They will be with us in the Sunday morning service on August 29 th. . It will be good to see them and hear the latest from the foreign mission field . Try to be in church every Sunday in August and a Bible in your hand.

Notes From the Music Minister

Ahh, time flies.

We are now into August. It is time for school to start again. I hope that everyone's summer found some fun and rest somewhere in there. Keep the music program in your prayers as we begin to plan and anticipate another fun year of music at the church.

I know that the choir will be starting their Christmas music soon, and that the other departments will begin their planning as well. Pray that the Lord leads us in those decisions, If you are considering taking a part in the ministry at Hillcrest, then I am sure that Dr. Bob would love to hear where you think the Lord is leading you to work !!.

Our August evening services are going to be so much fun this year. I know that we all enjoy our fellowships after we hear music from other worship groups. I hope that you can come and be a part of the worship and fellowship.

Always remember, that when you keep your hands busy with working for the church, you are keeping your heart closer to the Lord.

Our Children News

VBS 2010 was one of our greatest Bible Schools yet.

^{A special thank you to all of our workers who planned, worked, and taught. We had a great time and there was a great spirit as our teachers worked with all of the children. The children were wonderful and enjoyed all of the hard work their teachers had done.

This year we had a total of 156 enrolled, We had 102 children and 54 workers.

As the VBS Director, I just can't say enough about our wonderful workers. Let's not let it stop at the end of VBS but keep it going in our lives and hearts all year.
